Ingredient Name: Lavender Essential Oil (Lavendula Angustifolia)
What is it? Lavender essential oil is derived from the lavender plant typically through a steam distillation process. The essential oil contains over 78 nourishing, constituents including a-pinene, limonene, 1,8-cineole, cis-ocimene, trans-ocimene, 3-octanone, camphor, linalool, linalyl acetate, caryophyllene, terpinen-4-ol, and lavendulyl acetate. The essential oil of lavender is also known as the "first-aid kit in a bottle" for its powerful healing properties.
Why do we use it? We use lavender essential oil in the Mother of All Creams as a clean and calming botanical scent. We use lavender essential oil in the Wonder Balm for both its pleasing scent and its powerful antimicrobial applications. It's found in our Ultra Relief Cream to decrease the pain sensitivity and calm the nervous system. Lavender is also in our Breathe-Ease Balm for its potent antimicrobial properties, as a headache reliever, and to ease the symptoms of sinus pressure.
